I'll be on the lookout for it, Don Cheadle is the s[/i]hit.

Some years ago I read a book about the rwanda genocide. The hotel was a well depicted in the book and I look forward to seeing the movie to see how accurate it is compared to the book.

If you are interested in the situation there is a great book about it. The amount of death and the method was truly disusting. I dont remember offhand the book or the author but if you are interested I will look it up.

Really good movie. It was especially impressive that they were able to make this movie in a manner that wasn't overly melodramatic.

even so, it's hard to be melodramatic when yer talking about slaughtering 800000 Rwandans with machettes - sorta like the holocaust....

As Oscars come along, Hotel Rwanda got shafted for a best picture bid and Don Cheadle's performance is going to get waaaay overlooked too despite being nominated, though Jammie Foxx does deserve to win for Ray.

Also I really suggest checking this film out!

This was an awesome film. AWESOME. This was the first time I've cried in a movie in years. I'm a bit more emotionally attached perhaps due to my charitable involvement with Rwanda and the fact that I've studied the genocide there with interest, but this movie was just extremely moving. I want to go see it again.

I am very disappointed this movie didn't get a bid for 'Best Picture,' especially considering a film as mediocre as The Aviator got one.

I was extremely impressed by this movie, and it is definately the best movie I have seen in several years.

as much as i love don cheadle i think jammie foxx deserves the oscar, but imo don cheadle deserves it more than leo.

I agree with you, Gatts. Don Cheadle rules. By the way, you are very sexy and intelligent.

Figured I'd bump this thread rather than start a new one.

It was amazing. Seriously. If anyone has not seen it, they should right now. Don Cheadle turns in an amazing performance. The movie is blunt and powerful, but it doesn't overstate anything and feel the need to shove bloody images in your face.

Best movie of 2004.
