Posting blinds at Paradise

I have noticed recently an increasing number of players when sitting at a new table elect to let blinds pass through them and post a BB when to the right of the button.


Is missing 3 hands, including the button, to save one SB a +Ev play? If so, why?

You are not allowed to start with the button as a new player to the game. Starting one seat to the right of the button is the optimum position to enter the game in because you are posting one big blind in the late position, rather than having to play your first hand as BB and second as UTG. I guess if you get dealt crap and someone raises preflop you have to fold but it's a slight advantage.
