Everyone has heard of calling AA pocket rockets or American Airlines. KK, of course, are cowboys. AK is big slick. However, I'd like to hear names for others...I have many of these, and I will post them below, but I'd love to hear from everyone on this.

AA - American Airlines, pocket rockets
KK - Cowboys
QQ - Two ladies(or other not-so-nice word)
JJ - Fishhooks
55 - Speed Limit, Presto
33 - Crabs
AK - Big Slick
AT - I-10
KJ - Kojak
K9 - Dog hand, sawmill
Q7 - Computer hand
Q6 - Moondog
Q5 - Granny Mae
Q4 - Snookums
J6 - Locomotive
T5 - Dimestore
T2 - Doyle
96 - Big Lick
95 - Dolly Parton
84 - Lumberyard

In Seattle we have what I guess could be called a local hand name. The NBC affiliate up here is King 5 with the motto, "The Home Team." Therefore K5 is considered "the home team" up here in some circles. Even heard it at the Muckelshoot this weekend.

Unless the queens are black. Then you have the Williams sisters. Can anyone else imagine VVP saying this on air as easily as I can?

I saw a thread (on a different site) that gave local names to hands. Don't recall them (and the site has been taken down), but KK was Krispy Kreme.

Thank God someone else knows the Griz. Rumor has it, James Woods once turned over Qs6s and said "I've got the Griz full" on the PP cruise. Names travel a long ways.

My favorite VVP name is for KK. One time he actually called them "Kinkerbells."

36 - Jimmy Somerfield (spelling?) - named for his habit of always raising with it. Jimmy was (is?) the longtime tournament director at the Horseshoe in Tunica, and a lot of the poker people in the area know the hand by this name.
