SB was a loose and pretty passive player (VP$IP 40%, PFR 5%, PFAF 0.77, went to showdown ~50%).

I've added my thoughts below. Any advice on this hand appreciated.

Thanks,
Justin

I'd raise preflop. Betting the flop is fine, and betting the turn HU is fine too.

highly doubtful he has a K...he MIGHT have some sort of random gutshot, random pair. You DO have fold equity on turn, therefore bet it. River you can check unimproved (probably worth value betting if you hit a bair Q or T).

I'd fold this pf

I like your play on all streets. If it were 3-way on the turn I would check it through and take the free card.

why? High suited connecting cards, this is playable...

After 1 limper w/2 people left to act? I'm not sure how much +ev it is.

under what circumstances would you play it?

I'd limp after 2 or 3 limpers from LP or MP3. I'd steal w/it from CO or LP

I think limping here is kinda weak. I'd either raise or fold. A raise preflop works wonders with a K-x-x board as you will almost certainly be put on AK if your opponents aren't morons, and if they are morons then that's good too.

I don't semi-bluff this turn, not this time.

The 7 made all kinds of improvements for likely calling hands.

A K isn't folding. If he had 34s, he has a straight now. If he had 87s, he now has a pair to go along with his OESD. If he had 89s he just made his gutshot. Even something as weak as 45s now has an OESD & a pair. That turn card changed the strength of a lot of hands he could be check-calling the flop with.

If he shares the flush draw with you, he isn't folding the turn either. He'll fold the river unimproved, but you don't want to have to bet the river with this board in such a tiny pot. His range of showdown hands is pretty high after he calls the turn bet.

So, you check it through, and fold to a river bet if you don't make your flush. If he checks to you on the river, he probably didn't make anything, and you can take a stab then.
