I am heading down to Miami on the 21st for the weekend. Where is a good place to stay ? If you don't know a hotel, tell me which section I should look (Miami, South Beach or anywhere else).

I stayed in a place called hotel shelley in south beach. It's not a 5 star place by any means, but its one of the cheapest places in south beach. And yes, you want to be in south beach and not downtown miami. Hotel shelley is about a block from the beach and near all the clubs. Also, they have a deal where you can get free drinks at a place across the street for 2 hours.
Be ready to spend a lot of money cause south beach ain't cheap
