What's the probability of pairing both hole cards on the flop?

1 in 50. If you're interested in the calculation, I've done it a number of times. Try searching for my name and two pair. Others have done it many times too.

If A and B are your different hole cards, the probability for the flop to come ABx is 9*48/C(50,3) = 2.204%.

i understand where 9 comes from (9 possible ways for 6 cards to be paired) and where C(50,3) comes from, but where does 48 come from and what does it represent?

For flopping exactly 2 pair the 48 should be 44. For an explanation see this thread.
