How do you make a screen shot?

I've never made a screen shot. Never had a reason to. But I just got a result -- still on my screen -- that I want to preserve. Any quick and dirty way to do it?

Press the "Print Screen" for the entire screen, Alt-Print Screen for the window.

This copies the image to the windows clipboard, so you can paste it into any graphics application.
