What is the starting chip count, blind interval for the Sahara Tourney? Anyone know what days it runs and time it starts? Nothing is on there website. TIA.

Sahara has nightly 7:00 tournaments with $40.00 buy-ins and $20.00 re-buys and add-ons. You start with 1500 in chips (I think) and the blind structure is 10/15, 10/20, 25/50, 50/100, etc. Very good tournament. We had 107 the night I was there (it was my first tourney. ..and I finished 10th. .final table!)

Aladdin has fantastic sub-100 dollar tourneys, with very respectable chip counts and blind structures. They're millions of miles better than the Luxor/Mandalay events, and the staff is fantastic there. I think they do twice daily NL events -- 2+2 poster Al Capone Jr knows the details.

Mandalay Bay has one of the nicest sports books on the Strip. That's just a couple casinos away from the Excalibur.

Are drinks still free in the sportsbook?

Mandalay Bay is one of the nicest in Vegas. They have a $30.00 tournament beginning at 10:00 a.m. during the weekdays. Luxor (next door) has a nice tournament at 12:00 for $25.00. Both tourneys have the limit tournament for the first hour, then no-limit after the first hour. These tournaments only last 2 hours and are a lot of fun, but with a lot of "fish."

and YES. .drinks are free in poker rooms!!!

Good luck!

The Mandalay Bay tourney is a crapshoot and I think they meant if the drinks are free in the Sportsbook. They are but it all depends on how often you can flag down a cocktail waitress. Also, you have to have a betting slip.

Sort of correct.

They have a $20 add on only. You can re-buy into the tournament as a new player if you get knocked out. Call ahead, reserver your spot. Only place in town that does this.

Second, the blinds are 25/25, then 25/50, 50/100, 75/150, 100/200, 200/400, 300/600, then 1000/2000 and up. They never add antes to the game. Weekdays can field around 100 people average and then wednesdays can be over 160 (seen 188) because of the 25 hour free roll they do. That gets all the local clueless fleas to play, which can be nice. I've finished 11th (just out of the money) twice on wed's.

For limit tourneys, go to the Orleans (http://www.orleanscasino.com) website and check out what days they have limit. I believe the Golden Nugget runs a tourney that is limit and then no limit after the first hour.
