effective odds

Do people really calculate effective odds at a no limit game? I play online at tigergaming and have to be one of the worst players, so maybe its just me but I really dont see how anyone can do this because it seems to me that most people at these table just raise whatever they are in the mood to raise to. (Play money tables)

I don't think very many people at play money tables have any kind of conception at all about odds of any kind, and probably have no idea what effective odds are in the first place.

Effective odds are important in NL as well, although we're going to have to guess more as far as what it would cost us in future rounds. Taking into account the betting in the hand already, and the tendency of the players, we can come up with a workable idea.

yeah that makes sense. It seems like the better player one becomes the more quickly they can pickup on players betting patterns. Anyways, thanks for the reply.
