I will be heading down to A.C. this weekend to play in the $500 no-limit tourney at Harrah's. Does anyone know the setup of the smaller buy-in events? Starting chips? Beginning Blinds? Time at each level? etc.

Thanks

No idea about any of that, but I'm 90% sure I'll be playing in it too.

This will be my first live tourney in a casino environment. I have played online and in some locally organized tourneys (30 or so players) so go easy on me.

<joking> I'll give you a discount... you can just fork over $300 to me right now and save the extra $200 if you want </joking>.

While it won't be my first live tourney, I'm pretty much in the same boat. I gather the two $500 events will draw big crowds and a pretty wide array of players. The fact that they're running single table sats for them (I STILL haven't been able to find out the price/structure of these!) will make the field even larger.

I've been in the money at some live tourneys in AC.. It's not as daunting as you might think. On the other hand, since this is a somewhat major event the competition might be tougher.

That's what I am expecting....I won a local $125 buy-in tourney (31 players) about a month ago. I would say 7-8 players were reasonable, at best.

I'm just trying to figure out what ratio of starting chips to starting blinds is going to be. And if they raise the blinds quickly or not, making it into a all-in/fold scenario early in the tournament,

For those interested, it looks like the Borgata still has poker rates available for this Friday and Saturday... at least I was able to get one about 10 minutes ago. Don't know if it helped or not, but I am an existing MyBorgata card holder, and entered the number after calling their main line (609-317-1000)...

After putting in my card number, I pressed 0 to talk to a "customer care" operator, who connected me with the Poker Room. The staff there hooked me up with a staffer from reservations, who gave me the rate.

Hoping to see some @+2ers down in the cardroom this weekend, and over at Harrah's for the WSOP circuit event.

Im actually staying at Harrahs...I usually stay at the Borg but since i'm playing in that tourney they cut a deal on the room. I will be at the Borg whenever Im not in the tourney however. 2+2 meetup possiblities?

It's looking like I'll definitely be at the Borgata all day on Saturday, starting early afternoon...I'm down to meet up with whoever may be down there playing at the same time

You told them you were playing in the tournament? Go through the poker room if you have to. Have them transfer you.
