he's playing 80% of his hands, but how many is he raising? if he's loose but passive preflop I gotta think I'm behind here. but I still call it down, although I might stop and go the river if he's very aggressive preflop (indicating that I'm more likely ahead, and would like to get a bet in on the river, and would not mind being raised as much).

any PFR's or AF's on them? a "50% maniac" could still be reasonable and just be a LAG. the answer can vary greatly from call down to cap the turn+river.
