Was I to passive on this hand? I have no read on the other player involved.

Aside from raising more on the turn, I think you played it fine. Even though the river bet looks like a blocking bet, against an unknown it's hard to raise, as a 3-bet really makes you feel sick. He could very well be in there with junk like K6 or K3 from the BB.

Oh, and it's too, not to. That's the real reason I responded.

On the flop I bet the pot. Turn is fine. On river I raise he doesn't have A-K or he'd have raised pre-flop. The Ace is a blank here. Of many many possible holdings K-Q is the only one that I can see him having that beats me.

I believe he'd be more aggressive before the river if he had K-Q

I don't think he has AK. The reason that I called (as opposed to raising) on the river is because he played from the BB, so it is harder to put him on a hand. He could have K6, K3, KQ, 66, or 33 all of which beat me. So assuming he doesn't have AK, there are 14 possible hands he could have (66, 33, and 12 Kx possibilities). I lose to 5 of these 14, chop with 1 of the 14, and beat 8 of the 14. So I don't think I "clearly" have the best hand.

As for the $2 bet on the flop, I thought I had the best hand, and wanted to keep the other players in. However, with 2 diamonds on the board, I should have bet more to price out any flush draws.

I doubt that any of these holdings on the flop allow the flush draw to come cheap. Unless you have a read that this guy plays weak I'd discount slow-playing a flopped set or two pair on his part.

Do you believe that he just calls your raise on the turn with a boat?

Based on the information given I still feel that K-Q is the only hand to fear and I'd raise the river $15. You are giving someone that you have no read on too much credit here imo.
