Anyone have any types of % of wins in these games? I've been playing some recently on Pokerstars, and was wondering what % win rate to aim for. Thanks.

i got into the 5+ .25 sit n go's at UB for a while. i won 46 and lost 35, for a whopping 57% and $0.43 / tourney. i'd imagine others do significantly better.

Somewhere around 65% seems to be the mark in the $11s and $22s.

FWIW my small sample had 68% in $11s and 63% in $22s and that has been mirrored by people with larger samples than my own.

I see two questions:
Are you profitable?
Can with withstand Variance?

Remember that you MUST beat the rake. Poker stars takes a 5% rake, meaning you must win 53% of the time to be profitable (100 tourneys at $100+5 = win $5300 lose $4700 PS takes 500. You make $100). Now, you will lose 8 in a row at some point. You will lose 22 out of 30. You must be able to withstand that. So, keep your bankroll high, and win over 55%. Of course, 55% at the $100 tables means you make $500 in 100 tourneys or $500 in about 30 hours or $17 an hour. Divide that by the level you play. Is that hourly rate worth the risk?

I also know that we ALL have a tendency to overestimate our ability. I like to look at baseball as a guide - how many teams are winning over 55%? Those unlucky teams that are not in 1st with that win % are fighting fot the wild card. Are you really as good as the Dodgers?
