I've seen counterstrike mentioned in a few threads here and there and was wondering if anyone wanted to meet up in a pub tonight at say.. midnight EST to blast the hell out of each other.

Either 1.6 or source works for me.

I'd go for cs: source. Post the pub or your steam name and i'll join (tho maybe 15-20 mins late).

definitly, im up for it anytime from now to 1 Est. lemme know when you wanna go and what server. I just got source a while ago. My comps power source has pretty much cratered so my comp tends to lag in the action, so i normally play at Ogres house. Ill try to play but i might quit in frustration (and return to halo2 /images/graemlins/cool.gif)

Not trying to hijack here, but does anyone have a 9800 pro? I have one on a 2.4ghz computer 800mhz bus 500 megs of ram blah blah blah... I'm only gettin like 50 fps playing Source. The frame rate seems pretty low to me, any have some numbers I could compare these to?

I'm wit it but I don't have source. It would have to be 1.6 for me to join.

You need to tweak your config. The game out of the box is not configured very well but you should easily get 90+ fps if you add a couple of commands.

We should play this a week in advance next time. Maybe we can get at least 6-8 2+2ers in the game. And maybe a certain 2+2er who went 0 fer on one map can practice up a bit more first /images/graemlins/smile.gif. Not that i'm anything any better than average...

I 2nd the idea of a weekly CS night for us 2+2ers. It would be a good break from too much poker, not that I've been playing much at all lately.

Edit: But, we should definitely switch from west to east coast servers every week.

Back when the original CS came out I was getting a pretty decent kill ratio. I'm up for a little revisit to the wonderfull world of CS. Not tonight though, I have to get up early. Feel free to PM me about a future game/AIM names if you want.

I have source btw.

Yeah, I did pretty badly though on that one map. I don't know, I'm not bad, I usually do as well as you did. ::shrug::

I'm far better in Halo/UT like games though. For some reason, the more realistic the shooter, the worse I do.

I'm definitely in. I used to own CS, and I recently upgraded my computer.

Let's organize. /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

It happens in CS sometimes. Definitely more than halo or UT. I've had games where i started off 0-10 on one map before, and started off 15-0 on the next one.

Here are the two IPs for the cs 1.6 servers I frequent

69.93.227.12:27015
66.208.107.20:27015

They used to be affiliated w/ each other but the playerbases remain pretty much constant on each server now. Despite both having 'newbies' in the name, they're not explicitly newb servers. Not too many regulars have ever played over cal-im, really, so there isn't too much bitchiness and hypercamping.

my name is usually 'lupin.lha'
steam e-mail addresses: presam0@wfu.edu, woofnicksubbers@hotmail.com

That was my first actual source session since in upgraded my box. I've only played maybe 3 hours of it and it messes with my head. That and I had windows active w/ dualview going, so my framerate was sliced. Next time I'll be better, promise /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Anyone here play deathmatch classic, the port of quakeworld for halflife? I'd be down for a game of that any time.

I have, but I've started to play HL2DM now.

Picking up random objects with the Gravity Gun and smashing people with them is a lot of fun.

please please please do not highjack this thread!!!

post a different one and if no one is interested in diff games then let it die out instead of sticking and cluttering this one.

but i fixed my problem with cs and the studdering, it was my wireless router that sucked and was lagging somehow with 1.5 Mb cable connection. I hooked it up raw ethernet and now im playing all night with homework breaks. lemme know if you wanna play, ill be checking this thread all night. I still havent fixed the friends list problem im having so just give me a server name and ill join up. Hope we get more this time. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

oh an yeah, on the weekly official game...
i have time ANY day of the week. so we need to start throwing days out there and see if it complies with most. so if you have a limited schedule, list the days you can do it and at what times, and we'll see how many people can pick out one of those that will work. as i said before i can play almost every day so it doesnt matter at all what day for me.

EDIT: my name is riskwise for steam. add me to your f list cause mine doesnt work and lemme know your a 2+2'er when you join.
