I swear to god, if we don't get the ball back I am going to kill Mike Holmgren.

I can't see the game on TV here. What's so important about getting the ball back when you're up 28-20?

why are you watching that, and not in the Zoo charity tourney?

Alexander is 1 yard short of being the leagues rushing leader. Holmgren called a QB sneak for the last touchdown, which was a 1 yd run.

Thank god thats not a nationally televised game. Almost as bad is the ESPN game tonite, cowboys at giants. Followed by pretty much any other NFC matchup. What garbage.

Sinced Edgerrin James is sitting for nearly the entire game today, I don't give much credit to Alexander for beating James (but plenty of credit for being a great RB).

BTW, James had one rush for -2 yards today. Is that factored in?

ThaSaltCracka
01-02-2005, 07:57 PM
yeah its factored in, but Alexander had over 100 yds more than Edge, I think.

ThaSaltCracka
01-02-2005, 07:58 PM
damnit, he's not going to get it.

fcukin Holmgren, god, what a total douche.

Could still have a chance if the Falcons convert this.

I just looked up some numbers. Edge was leading the league in rushing a couple weeks ago. I just assumed he was the guy Alexander was just barely behind.

naw, C-Mart won it, and Correy Dillon was third.

I'll just take the 2-point conversion stop at the end of the game after the Seahawks hadn't been able to stop the run all day long. Big, big win.

STL at SEA
MIN at GB

Those should be great to watch.

Oh, and the AFC Playoffs should be great as well.

NYJ at SD, and DEN/BAL/JAX at IND.

And, probably, IND at NE again a week later.

Big, big win.

Against 2.5 quarters of Matt Schaub? Is considering that a big win possible? /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I kid, it was a fun game to watch. Good luck against the Rams.

He deserved it though. Curtis had a great year.

So let me get this straight. The Seahawks play in a game so close that it's decided by a 2-point conversion with no time left on the clock, and the results of this game have a direct impact on the Seahawks' playoff picture, and you think Holmgren should be concerned with Alexander getting the record? Blow steam somewhere else, man, you're wrong.

Holmgren's first job is to call the plays that give the 'Hawks the best chance of winning, period. If you get the ball in a situation where you know already if you've won or lost, then sure, call whatever you want. But void of that, Holmgren's ONLY responsibility is to win the game, and he would be doing a DISservice to Seahawks fans and players by calling any play that's not the one he thins is the best for the situation. And with the ball on the 1 yard-line, I would have given the ball to Alexander - not because of the record, but because that's who I think has the best chance to get it over the line. Obviously, Holmgren didn't, and how can we blame him? It worked.

I really can't believe you're pissed about this. It's not like Holmgren brought in Mack Strong to run out the clock.

ThaSaltCracka

he ran the ball 19 times today...come on man.

edit: You are right, they won the game which is more important, but it just would have been nice to see Alexander get the "title".

Oh, he totally would have though.

I agree with you, it's too bad for Shaun, but it's a team game, who cares as long as they win. Getting home field is the important thing against the Rams. Not that they won't choke next week anyway, but still.

It would have been great for Alexander to get the title, and I was bummed when Hamlin dropped that interception in the endzone with 3 seconds left, since that would have given Alexander one more run to finish the game.

And yes, I'm surprised he only got 19 rushes. With how well Shaun has run the ball this year, I would have thought he'd've gotten more carries than he did. But I don't begrudge Holmgren for not "making sure." That's not his job.

The part to begrudge is that the game was close in the first place. Matt Schaub??
