Retrieving old threads

I have recently discovered, to my disappointment, that threads I've marked as a favorite can "disappear." Does anyone know of a way to retrieve older/saved threads?

In particular, I am looking for a thread posted by Praying Mantis on Folding Equity

I've been looking around for some older posts too. The trick is to go to "older archives", then choose "recent archives", and then make a search. And the best way to search is to use a poster's name.
