View Full Version : MTT tournament equity calculation or formula ?

I am looking for a method / formula for estimating the equity of a player in a MTT tournament.

I realise that this could be pretty complex theoretically, but I am looking for a simple to implement calculation or formula.

The purpose is to estimate the (fair) compensation that should be claimed from an on-line poker room which is at fault for disconnecting a player in the middle of a MTT.

[I can then use this to show to the poker room how much it would cost them to treat its players fairly and therefore persuade them to invest money in improving its software to reduce the (currently unacceptably high) disconnnection rate.]

At this stage, pointers to previous threads (if any) or other on-line material that will help my research would be appreciated.

(player's chips/total chips)*(total prize pool-any prizes already paid)

Yup...chips/total in play ..X total prize pool seems fine to me.

No, depending on the circumstances that could be a poor estimate of tournament equity.
