Had AQo, flop comes A,x,x.
Turn comes A.
River comes A.

Other guy in with me couldn't get his chips all in fast enough. I told him "your Kings are no good" as I called.

4 Aces over Aces Full of Kings. Fuuuuuuuuuuk!

So I guess those x's are kings? And this deck had five aces? Or wild cards?

I'm assuming the other player had pocket kings. I lost to something similar. Had 7's full and third 7 hit the board. Some lady had 74o. Oh well.

I'm not usually mean like this, but your story really sucks. It's not because you called kings on the flop "x" and "x" but rather because you didn't even say how much the jackpot was.

The other guy had the pocket Kings!! the XX was trash. 3 aces on the board, plus pocket kings equals a boat. Seems clear enough.

When does a boat beat four Aces?

ThinkQuick

The OP ended with AAAAQ, and the second player with AAAKK.
The boat does not beat 4 aces.
The OP won the pot, but is dissapointed that this hand had to happen to him (for him?) at a home game, because if it were at his local B&M casino, he would've made a significant amount from the Bad Beat Jackpot, where this hand would qualify the loser, winner, and whole table for some nice extra hoiday cash.

How did so many people not understand this hand history?

Ok, now it makes sense. Since I live in Texas, I've never been to a B&M joint. I figured that since he was upset it had to mean that he lost to four aces, not won. I can guess what a Bad Beat Jackpot is though. Does it have to be aces full losing to make it a bad beat? I recently won a huge pot with four 10's against two other players with full houses each.

Aces full of Tens or higher has to be beat. have to use both your hole cards too. Loser of the pot gets like 60% of the jackpot. Winner gets 30% and the rest of the table gets 10, or something similar to that.

ive been on a table twice where it was close to happening but didnt. pocket Aces vs. Cowboys. Flop comes Kxx, turn K and then everyone was screaming for the A to come on the river but a blank showed up. other time guy held A 10 vs KJsuited hearts. flop comes QhAhQ, turn is the 10 of hearts and the river is a blank. We all thought we had it and a $4,000 jackpot but floorman comes by and says only A was used with the guy with boat AAAQQ not AAA1010. its funny when someone yells jackpot cause it seems like half the casino runs over to your table to see if you indeed got it.

only thing that im uncertain of is the order of the 2 players. does the player closest to button have to have the weaker hand? what if the guy farthest checks and lets the other guy bet into him, thus making him show the hand first?

Aces full of jacks beaten to qualify in some card rooms. Closest I've ever been to one is three feet, pocket deweys (deuces) vs. pocket tens both caught thier case at the table right behind me and the action was unreal, so I turned around to watch from my table as I wasn't in the current hand. Guess I should have gotten a table change.

I saw one bad beat hit in a B&M. Board had AAA rag rag, winner had AK loser had TT for aces full beaten by four of a kind. Only downer was it was during a tourney so no jackpot was in play. I also a long time ago had four jacks beaten by four aces in 7 stud in a home game when I was in college. Hadn't ever heard of the bad beat jackpot then.

My brother won about $900 for being at the table when four queens beat 4 sevens at his local casino a while back.

You are the man. WOW - you actually called his hand too! Impressive...

It's so terrible when I win a hand like that.
