Highlands Club Review

Been playing here for the last month.

(Score 1-10)

Graphics/Presentation: 7.5

They finally updated there menu/table graphics this

week. No more of that ugly brown krap that was hard on the

eyes. Everything from the felt to the chairs was remodeled.

However, anytime I look at a site that employs the planet

poker type software I cringe.

Speed/Server Reliability: 8.5

I give high props for the speed. It's currently the 2nd

fastest site behind paradise. Would have scored higher,

however the server is not stable enough. Maybe

they've had too many hurricances in Belize lately.

(Dont worry, it's not as bad as the old planet server)

Game quality/selection/Action: 5.0

This may be a generous score. Its impossible to find

a game late at night or early morning. Also the action

is suprisingly tight for a non-paradise site even at the

lower limits. Ocassionally I have seen very good action,

and the bad players who play here are not afraid to play

big. Can be hit or miss. No tournaments. Can only play

1 table at a time /images/frown.gif

Player incentives: 9.9

First I received a 100% buy-in bonus (after you play 5x

as many hands that you bought in..I bought in $500,

therefore I have to play 2500 hands before cashing it out).

Second they have a $20,000 plus jackpot going.

Customer Support: No opinion

Overall score: 8.0 (not a weight)

Summary:

You get a very warm feeling playing at the highlands.

You know your getting something back when you come

here. You dont feel like your getting screwed.

With the improvements in the graphics dept., and lightning

fast speed, this site should start making a comeback.

If your still playing on planet, and don't like tournies, I

recommend cashing out and joining the highlands club.

I find this site very slow, and the game selection is awful a 1 out of 10 at best. Most of the time there are no games going at all, and about 80% of the other times there is 1 game running. The promotions are very good, but thats about where it ends.
