Reraise for deception. I'll explain later.

Brad

Side Note:

A situation came up the other day.

The flop was JTx and turn was 9 and I had the top set (jacks). Pot is very big.

I was playing against both blinds and I bet the turn, the SB check/raised, the BB 3-bet all in. I know that the SB will cap if I just call, and that he has some kind of straight. What should I do, cap myslef or just call and then call the cap?

Read my add-on at the bottom of the 1st post. It sets up a pretty interesting situation.

you are getting almost 8-1 on your money with 10 outs...

I 3 bet the turn, and SB capped.

River was a brick and had the same action. Fold when it's 2 to me, or raise knowing it will be capped in a HUGE pot?

Cap yourself, to represent the straight. When you fill up, people will think you still have just a straight.

We have a winnah. Capping is the correct play here. I capped and he checked to me on the river (a blank). I checked behind and saved myself a bet against his non-nut straight.

You make the right play on the turn (this assumes that it will get capped anyway). If you had coldcalled 2 on the turn and then called 2 more, people know that you don't have AK. If the board pairs on the river, they will begin to wonder if you made a boat and possibly just call your raise. If you have been betting/raising the entire hand, then you might get the river capped if you make a boat.

River is tough, but it is hard to see how could could be good here.
