Maybe inducing a bluff on the river? It sure looks like you have a flush draw and that missed. He might see it as a chance to steal. Other than that, fine.

I was thinking this, and then b/c of his vpip for some reason decided he'd call with [censored] I'd beat. This may not have been a good adjustment.

I guess this is an issue of whether enough hands that you beat will call a bet vs. how many more hands might bet themselves if you check. The best hands you can hope the button has are 33-55 I guess. I don't think he's calling a river bet with an ace and obviously not a busted draw.

I think I like checking and hoping that one of those hands bets. I don't think you're missing calls from tons of hands that you beat here so having him check behind with a worse hand isn't so devestating considering most of them would likely fold anyway.

Anyone want a flop c/r?

I know this may sound stupid considering we're talking about 15/30, but I think that the nature of the board (low and paired w/ only 1 draw--that you have) means that you have a reasonable chance to win the pot on the flop with a bet.

...so I like betting.

Or the turn, there does seem scope to force a bet through and take down the pot a worthwhile amount.

i like betting the river instead of check calling. ace high almost always takes a free showdown here.

Btw maybe I'm being a simpleton but surely that also depends on how aggressive he is, which you haven't said.
