A Sklansky buck refers to winning theoretical money when your opponent makes a bad play, but wins the hand. So, if you're running bad, you may make a ton of Sklansky bucks, but lose a great deal of actual money.

Edit: More generally, any time you make the right play but lose money. Raising flush draws for value also earns you Sklansky bucks.

I would suppose that's a reference to Theory of Poker where the aforementioned Mr. Sklansky insists that you should be as satisfied to make the right play even with a bad result?

Of course he's right in the big-picture sense, but.... it's sure a lot nicer to make the right play and be stacking a lot of chips as a result. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thats a buck you make by avoiding rooms that use the sklansky rule.
