Do Sklansky and/or Malmuth play any online poker? Does anyone know what they think of it? I imagine if they play regular poker, blackjack, sports bet, and video poker then they also probably play online poker. Is their any poker site they endorse more than others?

Just a guess:

1) They wouldn't play because the limits are too low, and the games are not sufficiently soft to offset the $/hr lost due to the low stakes.

2) As long as the advertising checks keep clearing, they like online poker just fine.

3) To endorse one site over another is to throw away advertising revenue (which would also contribute to not playing, ie, "How come he plays at this site and not that site?")

DS is picky about game selection...

I would venture to say that he likes the split games

(omaha 7-stud), but doesn't particularly like

the hold'em games..And MM probably doesnt like the hold'em games.

And the stakes/rake/cheating possibilties

has nothing to do with it.

Just a guess.

I read in one of the poker magazines that David Skalansky had a good friend (now passed away) who was a musician. Living on a musician's salary can be difficult and he lived in an area away from casino poker. When online poker arrived, he played and was successful enough to add a good portion to his salary so he continue to do what he enjoyed most...playing music.

My inference from the story was that David thinks that online poker is a good means of playing poker, especially for those lacking access to a casino.
