I know that I am not discussing internet stuff, but this is zoo related:

If Any Zoo’ers happen to be in Atlantic City on Thursday (12-30), come say hi.

I will be playing the Borgota morning tournament. If they do not have it, I should be playing 3/6 or 1-2 NL. (I may play in the 2:00 at Sands, but that hurts the main plan.) unless anyone offers a better idea. PM me if you plan to be there.

The main plan is to play in the $100/20 Taj at 6:30.

I’ll be wearing a blue & white pull-over, jeans and a Blue/Yello BALLYOWEN Hat.

Feel free to say hi and discuss Brown Trout.

Just a little update. There are no “good” stories to tell.

I arrive in AC about 9:30 a.m- Borgota. I walk into the poker room and see the line for the tournament, but I expected it. Usually everyone has a sign in sheet, but for some reason, no one does. I assume that I am after the cut off. After waiting over 45 minutes, they announce the tourn. is full and you can sign up as an alternate. I was 12 people away from the cut off, so I crawl over to 6/12.

I play very tight for an hour. I am up about 15BB when I hit the Ace-high flush on the turn. I hold A/images/graemlins/heart.gif4/images/graemlins/heart.gif, flop of J83 (two hearts), the turn is the K/images/graemlins/heart.gif - remind you, it was 3 bet per-flop (5 players), 3 bet on the flop(4 players), capped a the turn (3 players). The river hits an 8! No I say, but I re-raise, 1 drops, we cap, and Joe Some turns over pocket 3’s for a very nice hand! A few hands later, I crawl away up $50!

Hmmm, just enough for the $20+Rebuys at Sands. I drive over Sands – with my free parking transfer – I register. I am shocked that I am #60 of 90. The room is empty. The poker room has 2 tables! TWO! There’s room at 2/4, so I grab a seat at Heaven! Yes, 7-8 players per flop. Needless to say, an hour later, I stop playing up $150 for the day.

The tournament starts. I get JJ in the 3rd hand. You only have T500, so I rebuy off the bat and end up all in as AQ calls me down and a Q hits on the river. Rebuy x 2! I finally hit a run of cards just before the break. I go from T1000 to T4500 by break – including checking I the BB with 52o and hitting on the river.

The break starts and 9 tables are running strong. First hand, I get AQs and hit 2 pair on the flop. Mr. 55 re-raises all-in, easy call, T7500.

Down to 7 tables and I do not get 1 hand to play. The tournament goes from 9 tables to 4 before I can even play a hand worth any chips. I am down to T3000 and the blinds are 1600/800. I get Ad8d UTG and go all-in. I get two callers, including the other short stack. The big stack has QQ, but hit the flush on the turn. Lucky Drop #1!

I stumble into the final table as the short stack. 9 get paid, so I am already ahead. I proceed to go into a zone of luck and solid play. A few hands later, I get AK to me with the short stack all in. I need to commit 50% of my chips, so I come over the top. A larger stack calls, and I flop AKx- turn K. I am now #2 in chips and much more relaxed. I decide not to play another hand until break (2 minutes). Next hand, though, I am BB, 1 player limps, SB folds (6 left). I check and hit the flop like a ton of brinks. A5 hits 554. I check, Chip leader goes all-in … with A4. He did not finish saying “All” and I called.

Things just fly my way. I make a deal with the final 3. A lady who never ever play a tourn before, a dealer from another casino and me. The lady was so tight, I felt at ease facing her. The dealer was a loosey goosey, but a really good player. I felt him and I would battle for 2-3 while she just set and waited. I immediately offered a nice deal. The dealer jumped at it, as he later told me, he was thinking the same as me. I leave with a great profit and my first casino win!

Oddest part, I never got to Taj for the $100. /images/graemlins/frown.gif

If I remember correctly, you later celebrated at the strip club, slapped a few people around in your drunken stupor, and told one of the ladies that she was the "third worst stripper" you've ever seen. After bolting without paying while screaming "Ernie!" you proceeded to promise to bring all your students down to AC for some "fun w/ poppa Vinny"

...and you said there were no "good" stories. Oh Vinny, you joker you...

Anyways, great win, good luck, and farewell.

Hugs and kisses,
