View Full Version : Best micro site out there (for a friend who has $100)

I'm trying to help my friend start up his poker playing career. Right now he has $100 to deposit into a site of his choosing -- so I'm trying to find out what the best site would be. I'm guessing that PokerStars or Paradise are probably the best two, but I'm not absolutely sure; I'd also like, if possible, to sign him up for a site that has referral credit, so I can buy him a copy of SSH with the money I get from referring him.

That said, what site would you recommend? He's probably OK playing $.25/.5 on a $100 bankroll, because he will have additional funds to deposit in the future if necessary.

How about having him register at Starluck and/or Planetluck casinos? Both have 100% deposit bonuses of up to $100 (EV ~ $90) and are great for new players looking to build a bankroll.

I would agree that pokerstars or paradise would be the top two choices. I think I would go with paradise over pokerstars myself as the play is a bit looser on paradise in my opinion. But either will do. I started out at the penny tables on pokerstars myself.

Paradise has some nice signup offers as well. See the classifieds.

PokerStars = no signup offers.

You must get him in a bonus program. More so, a 100% ... Interpoker is easy to clear, as well as the ones mentioned above.

I busted at starluck and I know others have. I would try Poker Stars. Good interface, micro limits, good sit-n-go's. Bonus whoring is a great idea but he needs to wait until he builds a roll up a bit.

Hey Entity,

I played Stars $.25/.50 way back in the day with a $100 bankroll. Your friend will be fiiine (especially if you're helping him along). Though a good point was made about Stars not having signup bonuses, so maybe Paradise is a good idea (though I've only played .5/1 there).

Either way, from my experience at Stars - I'd recommend it.

Doesnt a certian poster on here have a paradise sign up for 50%?

If so, that would be a huge boost to your friend's roll (assuming break even poker during the bonus period it would give him a full 300BB).

I went the way of Pacific Poker and I think it worked really well, he could even drop down to .1/.2 if he didnt run well at first. They have a refer-a-friend bonus. The games are so soft that even though you can only play one table you can have a really good hourly rate. Try to sign up at Party with a credit card you know wont accept online gambling and Party will possibly give you a 50% signup bonus so when he gets his money to $200 he can move to Party.

Rob,
I'm very surprised nobody has suggested you read this thread. (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Board=inet&Number=1060198&fp art=&PHPSESSID=).

(As a recent convert to the world of bonus whoring, I've come to know the zoo quite well).

One big caveat to Homer's thread: $100 is not enough for a newbie to play Crypto (min tables are 1/2).

With that said, I might suggest kicking in $100 to your friends bankroll, and heading over to Paradise for the Granny bonus. After this, Pacific or maybe Crytpo bonuses are more achievable.

pacific for those soft micro limit games! .05/.10 and .10/.20 are great to get experience. Plus there is a signup bonus.
