First, I want to say that this forum has improved my game greatly! Thanks to all. This is my first hand posting so please bear with me.

This is a PP 3/6 game and I have no read on any of the players yet. I like my play up to the turn. Is slowing down on the turn the right move? I suspected Aces or possibly 9's, as a 4 or 4's seemed unlikely due to pre-flop play. (FWIW, if I suspected these hands, I should have slowed down on the flop too, right?) Also, when I hit my river card, should I have tried a check-raise given the Buttons aggressive behavior?

I think you played this fine. I'd bet the river b/c I am seeing too many rivers being checked through on Party 3/6 lately.

I like the lead on the turn. Going any further would be nuts. The river check/raise is iffy, because if he had a smaller overpair, then he may not call it (and it would majorly blow if he checked it through), but he'll certainly call a bet on the river with just about anything. I like the way you played it.

What do you guys think about check-raising the flop? The pot's huge, so you'd like these opponents to face 2 bets instead of 1 and 1. Also, the hero is first to act with the preflop aggressors sitting just to his right. This seems like good check-raise territory. Am I wrong?

Looks good to me. The other problem with going for a river c/r (in addition to risking it being checked through) is that you may lose MP1 when it's two bets back to him. If that happens, then you've gained nothing with the c/r.

That was my thinking, along with the fact that I've seen a lot of LAG check the river through. Therefore, I'm thinking now that the bet may have been the best move.

I'd rather bet and 3-bet a raise than check-raise.

Your only mistake was not capping preflop. Your loosing $ by not capping with KK preflop.

Button capped before hero got the chance to.

No way am I trying a c/r on the river, I want to cap it if I can. Did he turn over AA or 99? /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Button had JJ. MP had nothing. Both have become good "buddies".

[/ QUOTE ]Come on, man.
-He couldn't cap, it was already capped.
-You meant "You're", not "Your"
-You meant "losing" not "loosing"
