Hi Folks,

I'm having the worst time trying to find the Single Table Tourney FAQ. Help!

what kind of strange dimension has our FAQ slipped into! Will it re-emerge better than ever?! I'm scared /images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Maybe now's the time to start a new one?

Unfortunately it disappearing has got nothing to do with me writing a new version! I guess the moderators decided that it didn't need to be sticky any more (or possibly it is because it has been moved to the archive?).

I am too busy in my new job to undertake the task of writing a new version, plus I am not regular enough here these days to know what the FAQs are any more. If anyone wants to take up the baton of updating it then I am happy to hand it over - but I warn you it is a bigger job than you might think.

Hi Tim,

Nice to see a post from you again. Been a while. I volunteer to (at least) help on coming up with a new FAQ.

Yes I wish I had more time to post /images/graemlins/frown.gif

Unfortunately the new job is pretty much all consuming. Still it pays rather better than 99.9% of days at the poker tables!

I will still do whatever I can to help, and I am more than happy to put in some time organising/editing/typing etc., I just don't have time to read here regularly enough any more.

Looks like you have done a great job with your spreadsheet since I last saw it!

I'm in as a volunteer as well.

Brad, have you thought about making your 10+1 post in to an article for the 2+2 Internet Mag? Might be a great base for an SNG article.

Actually, shortly after the 'part 2' thread I set to work writing a more comprehenive article.

That quickly turned into 40 pages and currently stands at over 100 pages. I am getting close to ready to begin properly editing what is obviously a small book and have already spoken to a few potential publishers - So while I'd be happy to think that I'll ever make $200 dollars off this little project, it may not be quite what Mason and David are looking for. /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

That's encouraging... But no, not yet.

Depending on whether I self publish or go with a more mainstream gambling publisher, you will probably see this book sometime before summer. If I do self publish, you might see this a lot sooner.

And, I expect that some people will see this before the end of Feb because though they do not know it yet, a few of the posters on this forum will help me as technical editors (which will probably amount to just reading the manuscript and telling me all the places where I am wrong or unclear). I also plan to bankroll and give a copy of this to a few 'newbie' friends to see just how easy it is to implement.

Of course I had planned to have this finished by last September at one point so who really knows.

As long as we are talking about this I'll breifly describe what this book will look like. It will probably be only 120-140 pages and will be a very basic ABC type introduction to SNG play. It will be directed at new, struggling, and slightly profitable SNG players. It will also contain information about SNG stats, progression, bankroll, online considerations and other basic SNG info.

I suspect that anyone who reads this forum on a very regular basis will get little from this book, but for a new or struggling SNG player, I think it will teach you how to turn a profit. If nothing else, it's going to be a nice, concise summary of ABC SNG concepts and FAQ type information in general.

I would speak to S+M before you put too much work into an FAQ for this site. If you become a published author (with someone other than 2+2) then they may not be willing to host an FAQ which has your name on it, they might consider it advertising for your book.

More to the point, it might seriously detract from the market for your book!
