Has anyone else tried it? I found it incredibly slow, but they do seem to offer a lot of good bonuses. Then again so did pokerspot.

I realize many of you have swithed to paypal based upon posts I have read. Nevertheless, advise here would be appreciated.

I went to Fire Pay to make a deposit. as usual it was busy and I had to try several times. Eventually I got to the point where I could enter a dollar amount but when I clicked on it said I had "timed out" try again. Needless to say I tried six more times and you guessed it.... those "time outs" were not really timed out and I was credited with making 7 deposits.

Needless to say I dont have enough money in the account to cover them so I called firepay and after staying on line for 30 minutes I got a helpful operator who said they would "credit" them back to my account but the email says 3 to 5 business days.

Im worried that my bank is gonna give me big problems with an overdrawn account. If you were in my shoes would you try to put money in the account to cover or call the bank?? or just move out of town and change my name???

thanks

yeah firepay is a joke and this timed out problem has happened to me as well. i would definitely call my bank tomorrow and basically explain to them that firepay is some sort of internet scam that got ahold of your card number and that you want all transactions with them blocked so you wont have to pay charges for being overdrawn, etc, etc.

Same thing happened to me yesterday. I called Bank of America's fraud line this morning (Sunday) and had it corrected.

Great, create more enemies of the companies that enable internet gaming. I know these are problems that personally affect you, but realize if you do these drastic things such as claim internet fraud its likely that the banks will just shut off all sources of funding for offshore locations. And please don't think they don't have a clue what exactly FirePay does because it is quite clear. As much as it sucks, FirePay is a representative of the offshore world and when the banks start realizing it is being used mostly for gambling and not what banks would consider legitimate transactions, the sooner the banks will just cut them off.

The casinos and casino supply companies have long acted this way (often suing competitors or making deals with their suppliers on exclusive contracts that prohibit business with a competitor a la Microsoft), they finally realized that despite their certain problems or disagreements, going out of their way and to great lengths to settle a personal dispute, they hurt the industry as well. We all must realize that if we act as one and work to support the industry as a whole (not necessarily one individual operation), then the more it will thrive and we will continue to have it available to us. The laws that congress talks of passing really won't stop us from getting onto offshore sites, but if we cause troubles with the banks then that will cut us all off faster than you would imagine.

I would just suggest you call up your bank and tell them truthfully your situation. Tell them you were trying to fund an account with FirePay to make a payment. Its not their business to ask you what you were going to do with the money, its purely a transaction between you and FirePay. Tell them due to some internet difficulties there were some accidental problems with your account and you are probably going to be charged more than one time. Tell them you have disussed it with FirePay and they acknowledge the mistake. If the bank wants, they can call and be on hold for 30 minutes with FirePay, but they will (hopefully) hear the same story you told them and they can make adjustments accordingly. No need to say anything about fraud, the banks are well aware that the internet and networks have errors that can cause system related malfunctions. No guarantees they will be completely understanding, but I can't see how lying about it will get them to be any more positive. Besides did you think of the fact that saying its a fraud means even your legitimate funding will be reversed and then FirePay will be upset and just possibly look on you as a fruad yourself. If you want to play online you NEVER want to gain this moniker because lists and word does pass from establishment to establishment sometimes.

Thank you for your monologue about ethics in the offshore industry. For your information I said I called their fraud line, I did not say I reported a fraud. If it had been a regular business day I would have stopped in and seen my regular account representative. In addition, if it had been the last day of the month I would have waited till the next business day.

I told the lady that I made a purchase over the internet and that due to a wrong information being reported back I inadvertently made a 4 purchases for $4000 instead of one for $1000. She corrected it and in addition she inquired about my last four or five other purchases to make sure to make sure that those were correct.

As far as what the money was for she mentioned the reason herself.

Regards,

Mark
