Aviator is very good but VERY long. Gotta give the Leo credit, kid can act a bit. Fantastic job by Cate Blanchett as Kate Hepburn. And Scorsese just turns Oliver Stone & Alexander into a popsicle, director-wise.

Both HHughes & Big A were larger than life figgas who's bios would appear almost unfilmable. Marty very wisely picked a slice while Ollie Conspiracy flailed wildly all over the place.

As for the second round of Sideways, I first seen it when it came out a couple months ago and loved it. Buddy of mine hadn't seen it yet so we went yesterday. Place was packed. Holiday obvo had something to do w/it, but ya still gotta love word-of-mouth. I liked it even more the 2nd time which is very rare for me; Apocalypse Now and mebbe 5 or 6 others fall into that category.

If any of you who liked Sideways haven't seen Election or American Splendor yet, run don't walk to the vid store.

I think I saw something out of the corner of my eye yesterday somewhere on the net that Aviator was even money to win Picture of the Year for 2005. At least at some sportsbook. Million Dollar Baby was second I think at +180 or something, and then the next down was WAY down at like +500-something, and then 4th was well beyond +1000. Maybe +1400 or something like that. I don't know what that has to do with this thread, but it just popped into my head.
