Party 30+3 SnG. How often does SB need to have a bigger pocket pair for a call to be incorrect?

You should call. You are getting better than 2-1 pot odds at this point. Your opponet would have to have a higher pair about 2/3 of the time for calling to be EV-.

The smaller raise is OK, but I would just push here. You have just over 10xBB. It is a pretty standard move when you are fairly short stacked in mid to late position to open push with a small pair. If you are short enough stacked and in late enough position, the blinds you will steal and the favorable hands versus 2 overcards make up for the times you get blown away by a higher pair.

But if he has overcards, I am only a coin flip, right?

Right, but you have 20% chance against a higher pair, and a slight advantage versus overcards. In this situation, he could have A4 or a lower pair. If you fold, you get nothing. If you are against overcards, your average gain is +100, against a higher pair your average loss is -300. If you fold, you lose -150 no matter what. So if he had a higher pair 2/3 of the time and overcards the rest, you lose 167 by calling, so you ahould fold. Otherwise, you should call.

SB had QQ, and I'm out. That's poker.

IMHO, push this instead of standard raising. Granted QQ would've called you anyway and you'd be out, but with a hand like 66 almost any flop without a 6 in it will make me nervous, and there is a good chance you'll see a stop and go from the the big stack BB going up against short stack.

66 is a favorite against most hands and there's a decent chance BB will call with a worse hand. But even if you just take the blinds, I'd be happy with that with low pockets.

If I am going all in on button with pair let me face over cards anyday.

Absolutely, which is why i'm saying push. There's a good chance BB will call with A-10 or greater against small stack. If its lower limits, you'll likely get called by any 2 broadway cards. On the other hand if I bet 3xbb and big stack just calls, I've got a tough decision on almost any flop.
