So I got to roughly 400 VIP points and they decided to bump me up all the way to 5000. What should I use my EPoints for?

I'm at 375 points.. hope they do the same for me. Value wise their freerolls are probably the best way to go. You could take $50 if you don't want to spend the time in them.

correct.
cash-back is $50.

But they are having a monthly WSOP-VIP tourney for 2k points. That gives better value.

Or....if the merchandise turns you on you can splurge for some kind of polo or sweat-shirt or shot-glasses or whatever the hell they have in their gift-ship.

I didn't spend any of mine and am now using them exclusively on the 2k-point WSOP-tourneys.

At 5k points you earn them twice as fast btw.

At 15k accumulated points you are in the royal-flush club and get a 10% reload each mth as well as a watch which others have reported is pretty nice (and some other promotions I guess).

At 25k accumulated points you get a new TV.

I'm at 12.5k points now and probably get around 1k points per month (since I play on other sites too of course).

I still think it's a ridiculously goofy system of awarding points. But I do like the idea of eventually attaining monthly-reload status. And perhaps getting that TV at some point.
And the WSOP-VIP points tourneys are a nice touch too.

I don't like wearing poker-logo stuff so that's not an option for me.

If you don't like the logo-wear and don't like the WSOP-tourneys either you can always just take the cash.

At 11K myself

1. So you actually get a 10% monthly reload bonus?

2. Has anyone actually gotten this alleged TV? Do they make you redeem any points to get it, or just send it to you gratis at 25K?

The square root system is really messed up. The following is true

Hands 1-100: 10 pts.
Hands 101-200: 4 pts.
Hands 201-300: 3 pts.
Hands 301-400: 3 pts.

Etc. etc. really not worthh playing past hand #100 or so.

one of the posters here (stripsqueeze I think) reported getting the TV about a month ago.
he was trying to decide whether it would be appropriate to give it to his sister as an XMas gift.

a couple others have reported having difficulties receiving their monthly bonus with the royal-flush code they give you at 15k points. evidently, it's kind of slow to appear in your account.
But I think most of those situations were eventually taken care of.

I have no direct experience with this stuff yet so I don't know for sure of course. but it says on their site monthly reload at 15k and free tv at 25k so i assume it to likely be true.

Personally I like the square of the number of mulitable tournaments. To bad their tournaments tend to be lacking. I think SNG are the most likely way to gain a large number of points without having to play for 3 years.

I wish I could figure out what criteria they use to bump people up. Double points would be nice.

Nice...

I got 459 points with 258 earned this month. Seems like the people who get bumped up low are the ones who earn a lot of points in the span of a month or two. I'm hoping I get bumped up sometime soon.

It's not fair... I have 1600 points and I haven't been bumped up.

I have a feeling the limits you play might have something to do with you being bumped up (5/10 6max for me). Playing at the higher rake tables might make Empire more inclined to bump you up. And this is just two months removed from a reprimand for the good 'ol make-a-2nd-account-to-get-affiliate-rakeback followed by the closing of the previous account trick.

Were you really able to get away with doing that??
Sounds awfully risky to me but if they only give a slap on the wrist then I'm intrigued.

Did you just set up a 2nd acct...or wait to get your old acct closed...or what??

Gabby - I honestly don't know what it takes. I don't think Empire does either.
Playing a large amount of hands in a short time and/or making frequent large deposits into your account could possibly have an effect. But there's no guarantee.
