Hey folks! What with the poker boom in full swing, there's a good chance you went to a holiday gathering where someone got a poker-related gift -- a tabletop, a chipset, an all-in-one carrying-case set, or the like.

Did you then get involved in a game once the lucky recipient said something like, "Let's play when we get back from Mass/while dinner's cooking/during football"? Were you seen as the resident poker expert and thus called upon to tutor or deal? Was the game full of fun mistakes and laughs, or a grinding ordeal? How many people pushed their stacks just to be able to say, "I'm all in," like on TV? /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Post some holiday first-time poker war stories!

We did "white elephant" gifts and my sister got one of theose Holdem TV Games. Played a few hands. It was crap. "No Limit" to them is adding "all in" to a limit game. It was slow, meaning button response time was delayed, so people were making the wrong choices. Cards and chips would have been faster.
