Just wondering what people's standard deviation is who play $5-10 party games regularly and how it relates to BB/100.
Anyone care to post:
Standard deviation
BB/100
Number if Hands
Thanks

What a surprise - the one and only post is from someone who's running very well...
lol..
I played 5/10 for about 3 hours...got my ass handed to me.
Down about $300. Then I hit a huge pot and brought me back to even.
I changed my pants (the big pot was a scary hand with a nasty river) and went back to my happy 3/6 /images/graemlins/smile.gif
Better luck to you...

Standard Deviation does not relate to BB/100. They are mathmatically unrelated.

Standard deviation: Too high
BB/100: Too small
Number of Hands: Enough to know.
Yeah, that's about spot on. STDEV and BB/100 are not related, incidentally.
I've never understood BB/100 anyway...I've always used BB/hr.
Would someone please explain BB/100. Is it how many Big Bets you win per 100 hands?

well some people play more tables than others, so it's a way of comparing apples to apples. of course, all that really matters is BB/hr. if someone makes 40 BB/hr playing 4 tables and another person makes 50 BB/hr playing 12 tables, the 4-tabler may boast a higher winrate but the 12-tabler makes more money
the reason BB/100 is popular is because it's the stat that PT displays on the general tab

I've joined the "don't play 5/10 full" bandwagon. 10/20 full (or so it seems) and 5/10 6-max are much softer

Welcome to the Dark Side!! 5/10 full will pwn you.

Just curious why you feel this way? What makes 5/10 so much different from 3/6, 5/10 6 max, and 10/20

Josh is 10/20 really softer?
Every time I check there seem to be fewer 10/20 full tables with 8 BB avg. pots. Sometimes there are none.
Clearly, this is a crude way of evaluating anything, so if that's just an anomally and 10/20 is hands down softer, say that, and I'll be content.

For me, it's results, plain and simple. Have not done much 10/20ing, but for me, 5/10 is the pros compared to 3/6. Many of you are saying "sad"; it is.
My advice: stick to 2/4 and 3/6 - add more monitors. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

8 BB! I almost never see a 5/10 game averge 8BB, even the jackpot tables; and I thought the 10/20's were similar or even tighter than 5/10. I am becoming content with anything over 6BB /images/graemlins/frown.gif

Can you please elaborate more on response. How is 5/10 like the pros compared to 3/6?

i too would like to know. i play at pokerstars and thus far (limited # of hands) have not noticed a difference between 5/10 and 3/6. if anything i'd say the 5/10 tables have a bigger avg players/flop % than 3/6 does which is good.
