I would just like to know if i played this hand correctly..... I am confidant that given my position and pot odds that i was getting the best of it... nevertheless... i lost the hand (curses!). If someone has the time to review... thanks in advance.

I think my only mistake was calling the last bet.

It was kind of hard to follow-- because of the formatting........... but if you think your hand is worth a raise pre-flop-- you have to cap the flop.

You're supposed to have both the best hand- and the best draw.

That being said- I wouldn't raise preflop.

Other than that-- i would've called the turn and river- as you did.

So--

1. I wouldn't have raised pre-flop 2. I would've at least re-raised/capped the flop

1. Against multiple limpers preflop a suited ace wins more than it's fair share. Your raise was good.

2. On the flop, you are probably drawing, but it is to the nuts. You are better than 2 to 1 to suck out by the river, you can profitably jam & ram with your draw as long as you get 2+ callers. Reraise.

3. On the turn, enjoy your free card. If there is none, call all bets on turn, you still have the odds.

4. Headsup, you gotta call on the river, pot is too big. If there were an overcall by a third player, you could bail out.

I've always believed this too. With loose limpers like the type in a 0.50-1.00 game, you make money by raising with AXs. It begets an interesting question though; if you are facing 3-4 limpers but they are sane limpers (as opposed to limpers liable to have K6o/T3s/86o etc), is it still profitable to raise with suited aces? Aside from other considerations like "taking control of the hand", "being deceptive", "building the pot if you hit" and so forth, that is.

Phrased differently: Would you prefer to raise all-in with AXs or call all-in?
