Looks like they will do custom clays, 2 edge spots, with a 1000 per set up minimum.

Still trying to ascertain whether or not the clays come with a custom inlay.

Anyone have experience with their clay chips?

I have acrylic plaques, coin inlay chips, and decal inlay chips. No clays though. I'd like to hear about them too.

Where are they in the states?
I tried to get Matsui chips for retail and with a minimum order of 100,000 chips they wanted 62 cents each for the 2 edge spots. That was FOB S. Korea so by the time they got here they would have been at least 75 cents a piece. /images/graemlins/confused.gif Not a very good wholesale price, I didn't think.

Again, I'm not sure if they are concerned with making a broad penetration at the retail level... what's a reasonable mark-up on $.75 ? $1.25 ?

What is your competition pricing for similar quality 2-spot clay chips? If the chips are very good as compared with similar chips and you can sustain a decent retail price (moving them out in a reasonable timeframe), then I guess you'd have bought them.

Had you checked them out? Gotten samples for review?

I want to get some samples sent my way, but I have such limited experience that my views on the matter would be of dubious value at best.

They're in Japan. And yes, they are very expensive IMO. Way too much for injection molded. Again, I haven't seen their clays, but I am not impressed enough with their plaques or molded chips to pay even their wholesale prices. Their plaques look and feel like cheap toys.

I didn't know you guys were talking about ordering from Japan. The company is in Japan, but the chips are made in S. Korea (Japan's version of cheap Chinese labor perhaps?). Anyway, I definitely can't predict how well the market would be for these chips to invest in 100,000 of them. They will make a lower quantity but then you're starting to look at .90/chip. Way too expensive IMHO.

Yes, it is a Japanese company, but the Casino Chip prodution was re-located to S. Korea a couple of years ago. This link is to their sight (if it works)
http://www.casinovendors.com/VendorLinkFrame.cfm?URL=http://www.matsui-gaming.co.jp

Once you get to the sight, select ENGLISH (unless some of you read japanese)and then go to News. There is an article on the Chip manufacturing facility in the ROK outside of Seoul. Also, you may want to check out the "Chips" page of the Web site. The translations on may of the pages are not very accurate, the area marked "Play Casino Chips" is acually Clay Casino Chips. I have spoken with their customer service folks and offered a couple of edits and suggestions.
I had seen their info when researching Paulson and GPI via the int'l chip suppliers.
The production plant for Matsui is just outside of Seoul and I have a map and directions. I will be in Seoul Mon-Wed of next week and was trying to arrange a visit/tour with the production plant. I would like to at least visit and see what is available and maybe get a couple of samples to check out. I'll let the forum know at the end of next week.

I emailed back and forth with them a few weeks ago. I have samples of the clay and decal chips on the way. I'll post when I receive them. So far I would compare the decal chip to a bud jones, and a clay to a paulson. Of course the clay may be closer to a .5 cent / chip ebay special when I recieve it...

I don't like that the website shows drawings of the chips, but no actual pics.

Paulson's chips are made in Mexico. So what does that mean?
