So your general store bought generic brand of vitamin C supplement has 833% of your daily required Value. and they want you to take 1 per day.

Why so much?

because you piss almost all of them out. Vitamins are a total scam.

Because your daily REQUIRED value is what your body NEEDS to function properly, but it can use more than that. Also, since Vitamin C is water soluable, it is literally impossible to OD on it (cuz you piss out the excess).

i wouldn't call it ODing, but try taking like 5000% or more in a day...

They are not a scam. Sure, one is much better off eating to get the nutrients..but with the standard american diet this is very hard to do.

you piss them out, because they are water soluble. I know for certain c and b's are. A, D, , E, and Iron are fat soluble so one can take too much.

but, TSC is correct at the same time. there are some vitamins that are on the market that are bascially shat out. that is why it is important to get really good vitamins.

The government's recommended daily intake is 60mg. This basically means that if you take anything less than 60mg a day, you'll die of scurvy. A healthy intake, OTOH is more like 500mg, at least.

And 500mg = 833% x 60mg.

500mg's an easy number.
