View Full Version : Do you ever notice unusual behaviour online? (tinfoil hat)

Our chip leader so far has:
CALLED an all in preflop with 24s, and proceeds to hit a straight

CALLED a re-re-raisd all in e pot with 47 on the flop, and proceeds to hit runner runner gut shot straight draw

CALLED a 7xBB raise preflop with 36s and flops the gut straight & flush draw. (He hits it on the river.)

And this is just 30 hands into the game (20+2)
I've seen my share of bad players but this is just silly. Even a very bad player knows 47o is probably behind when the pot's been raised, re-raised, and, and raised all in.

I was wondering where to get a pattern mapper.... do you think they will deliver in time for the holidays?

everyone save your money

the map:

Party Poker pays off in cycles of 10. Precisely? NO!
Here are the patterns (the main cycle is 9-12 hands)
W L L L L L L L L L L L W
W L L L L L L L L L L W or
W L L L L L L L L L W or
W L L L L L L L L W
Those are the main cycles of hands each player will win regardless if
anyone folds.
Here is the GRAVY winning sub cycles.
W W (10% or less OF THE TIME AFTER A WIN)
W W W (EXTREMELY RARE)
W L W
W L L W
W L L L W
These subcycles come together most of the time. Something like this:
W L W L L W L L W or
W L L L W L L W LL W
Then after 5 consecutive losing hands the cycle of roughly 10 starts over
so it.s like this:
W L L L L L L L L L L W or any of the other 10 cycle possibilities.
Here is a string example: W L L L L L L L L W L W L L W L L L W
L L L L L L L L L L W W L L W L L W L L L L L L L L L W L L W
L W L W L L L L L L L L L L W ETC. ETC.
It is also possible to see a losing streak of 20 or so losses, especially when
you are really up a lot of winnings. So watch out.

Some of you might be screaming bloody murder and saying but I have
seen someone win 5 hands in a row, or I have seen some sucker lose 20
hands in a row. This could happen, BUT HOW OFTEN?
Remember, it.s possible to win every hand or lose every hand depending
on who folds and who stays in. That.s called LUCK.
But for YOU and I, let.s rely on skill and patterns that repeat OVER
and OVER and OVER again!
It.s imperative that you practice this for hours. You will begin to get a
feel for these patterns like second nature. I started writing them down
for a long time to force myself to pay attention. I strongly recommend
you do the same thing.
Even when I am in a 9-12 main cycle (meaning I haven.t won a hand in
9-12 times I will not always call an all in. It.s not worth it to call an all in
before the flop unless you only have a few dollars of table money left.
VERY IMPORTANT:
Don.t screw yourself by going all in and losing and then having to wait a
hand before you can buy in again. I don.t know if that.s a flaw in
PARP, but you need to see every starting hand you have to track your
cycles.
If you haven.t won and it.s the 12th hand, then you are going to win it a
very large percentage of the time. It.s not guaranteed though so use
discretion. These cycles hold true 75% of the time when I play in a full
or near full table, so do yourself a favor and perfect being able to spot
them.

I still play some hands when they are out of cycle, because someone who
may have had the best hand quite possibly folded it before the flop. But
now, when you get a pocket pair like K.s and you are on the 7th hand of
the main cycle, I bet you will think twice about betting it large!

After that series of beats, I'd find it unusual if he WASN'T the chip leader.

Hmmm, well this completely explains why I have recently went 5 days in a row where my sessions start withiout a win after as many as 150 hands (true)...

I shoulda been playing "Any 2 will do" every 3-5 hands /images/graemlins/wink.gif (Please propogate this to as many fish as possible)

It could be a high stakes player who got drunk and thinks it's incredibly funny to go in with crap - and win

Someone at the table has made fat amounts of Sklansky bucks during those hands. Too bad you can't shop with em!

In my quest for useless stuff to post, I went googling for an image of someone playing poker in a tinfoil hat (unsuccessfully), and found an interesting (you be the judge) excerpt on a page about Rock, Paper, Scissors.

"...This is easily demonstrated by Roshambot, a computer program that easily defeats some human players (as does its author Perry Friedman, who won an $800 competition against seven opponents including former world poker champion Phil Hellmuth in August 2001). University of Alberta Ph.D. student and poker player Darse Billings organizes a computer Roshambo competition to explore these possibilities, and their application to computer game play in other fields (notably poker, in which exploiting an opponent's non-random behavior is an important part of strategy)."

Imagine Phil's outrage when his perfectly played Rock is covered by a lucky Paper!

Anyone know of any high stakes RPS tournaments?

I'm surprised someone with 158 posts would post something like this. Haven't we gone over this 100 thousand times?

I was just over there, and came back here to see your message. I also see that RPS comes up quite a bit in Phil Gordon's Tiltboy articles from the 90's. Maybe RPS will be the new Poker! We could just change the 2+2 deuces to scissors and keep the forums going.
