Did you have a read on the raiser? AQs is a good hand, but is a coinflip at best to most hands that reasonable players will 3-bet with. This sure smells like AK to me. I would have called the 3-bet preflop and CR'd the flop or turn, depending on how sure I was that he would keep betting.
