No read on the villain here. When, if at all, do I slow down here?

Wow.

Certainly seems like this guy flopped trips and possibly a boat. With no read I think you blew through many stop signs. If he held a 2 he played his hand well...on the turn he slows down worrying you might have had KK. The river 2 gave him quads so it was pedal to the metal again.

Personally I'd go into call down mode after the flop cap. Many other posters would probably lead the turn too but why three bet here?

I really don't understand the river three bet.

If you won add him to your buddy list. If you lost I'm sure you're on his.

You don't have a read so you need to call down after he caps the flop. You turn and river play is chip spewing.

Can I really give this guy credit for a 2?

Hey Bob,
On the turn, I think I just call the raise. He plays like he has a flush. When the river brings the third 2, then I'd go crazy. If he has a 2, so be it.

Did you ever consider that he might have 55? I just don't see how he could have a 2. An "unknown" will hardly ever play a flush (or draw) like this on 3rd and 4th.

the cold call preflop makes me think 55 as well, but i still don't think i slow down until the turn. I might lead, but his raise puts me into check call, i believe.

You raised preflop and played like you had AA all the way and yet he didn't slow down at all. I think he played it like he has a 2. You don't fold because he might be bluffing or overplaying some other pocket pair like 55 but at least fear the 2 enough to slow down.

Could have 55 just as easily as a 2.

Flop is fine.

The 3-Bet on the turn is close. But his not capping the turn should not lead you to believe he is weak. He could be way ahead of you here and slowed down asking you to bet out the river. Given you raised preflop, he prolly figures you for a poket higher than 5 or two broadway cards containing a K (slim chance of a KK). If I had A2s here, I would have called the turn and raised you again on the river.

Obviously I don't know your precise read on the fella but as far as the 3-Bet on the river - that's not called for whether he was a bad or good player.

Villain turns over 25o and MHING. I should have known, but I just couldn't believe it.

As Droolie said, you blew through a few stop signs? Ok so you ran over the stop signs! I would have slowed WAY down after the flop cap.
