The villian in BB is a solid player who loves to play speculative hands and pump them hard. I wonder if it was wrong to fold here?

I folded because I think that BB holds specifically 8 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif,9 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif. I'm sure that he didn't have a set or two-pair since he always made his move with those holdings on the turn, but pumped his draws hard on the flop when the bets were cheap. How does one know to trust a read like this? Should I have just called down in this humongous pot (with all the other dead money) even though I am possibly drawing dead? What if I held Q /images/graemlins/club.gif,Q /images/graemlins/diamond.gif and the turn was 6 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif?
