im figured id start a thread for my challenge to not clutter up the other one. so if youve got something to say (like how stupid you think this is, josh /images/graemlins/mad.gif) or want to check in on how im doing or cheer me on, this is the place to do it. im going to play 10 tables (.50/1), but im only going to give out my name for one of the sites that i play on. i dont know how many people (if any) are planning on joining in with me for a bit, but i dont want to have to worry about being semi-bluff limp reraised all day.

im still planning on starting at 430est, just gotta go make a bunch of sandwiches and run to the store. ill reply when im about to start.

pulled in about 400 hands of break even play /images/graemlins/confused.gif. i started the time from when i sat at my first table, guess it just took a while to get all 8 rollin. this is gonna be rough.

edit- oh and i just got a straight flush 9-K, which i was pretty excited about /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I dont even know if you can call what I was doing Lagging. My capping standards were any suited, any connectors, any pair, and any two high cards. I think this just goes under the title gambooling. But yes it was fun.

No, the only one I knew was Mark.... Aside from you two and BDK, I have no idea who any 2+2er is on PP.

It was nice being one of those guys that raise almost anything. I don't think we were well liked at all, however.

i refuse to open poker tracker to see that i am wasting a day of my life for nothing. i just ordered a pizza online, but none of my roommates are home, so it looks like ill have to run and pay the pizza guy and be back within 25 seconds, or whatever it is.

im at about 1500 hands, and my AP will be well above 7.

any ideas what ill make in rakeback at 22.5%?

Damn right. I have to say from a psychological point of view this was quite fun for me to do. I was just being the classic super LAG, talking it up, showing crap hands that won pots. Honestly, I think this experience will help me handle my next downswing a little better because I played with the fish mentality for about half an hour, and I feel like I now have a better grasp of why some people play that way, and that playing that way will lead them to hit some crazy cards that cost you big pots, but in the long wrong they lose the money. Maybe I'm rambling and make no sense, but something just clicked in my head while gambooling it up today.

Maybe I'm overthinking this, but it occurred to me that with all of us 2+2ers playing super LAG and dumping money left and right, someone has to be making this money. My conclusion is that the fish are all getting a nice added boost to their bankrolls, along with a little boost of confidence, thus making them think they're better than they are. This type of thing could entice them to move up to higher levels and dump more money, and when they do they'll think oh it must have just been bad luck and they'll bring more money into the poker playing community. Or I could just be insane, your choice.

Bison - I do have to give you major props for this fantastic idea. This was easily the most fun I've had playing poker in a long time. I think the non-2+2ers at the table had no idea what the hell hit them.

Just wish it was working out better for poor Mark.

i tried to plan for a smooth transition to stars and paradise for 3hrs when party was about to go down. i deposited $ into both of them (didnt have any in them). when i got to the point of switching i ran into some problems.
1) wait lists
2) paradise only lets you play 3 tables
3) stars only had 2 50/1 full game running
4) i never use their software, and would be VERY bad 8 tabling it. (which was not possible anyways)

i tried to get it to work somehow, but there was really nothing i can do. im pretty pissed off about not finishing, but i dont regret starting. i had a blast at the 2+2 table we had going.

this is only a temporary set-back. i have set out to earn my ADHOC status, and i will. im very conifdent that i would have finished this if party hadnt gone down.

1) Stars lets you play on 5 tables
2) Go down to .25/.50 or 1/2

its 24 hrs of .50/1, not .25/.50. i can barely understand whats going on on one table at paradise, let alone 3 plus 5 tables of stars (which is also hard to follow). all the time i spent messing around trying to set this up killed it anyways. why would i look for a reason to quit. im not tired. i was halfway there already. now i have to start from scratch, which i will do sometime soon. it just felt tainted. im going to do it, and im going to do it right.

Damn, I played with you 3 hours ago before I went to work, smelled 2+2 but didn't know of the challenge. One of you accused me of being too tight but I had the dryest run of starting hands ever. My VPIP for the session was 8%. I sat between two of you, nicely sqeezed between raises and reraises. Once I had AA but this was about the only time you refrained from raising in front of me! I hit the 3rd A on the flop and took only 12BB or so.

I have no idea who would have called you too tight /images/graemlins/smile.gif. It was supposed to be a LAG session to keep mark entertained, and tight play makes 8 tabling so boorring.

I was only halfway through and, needless to say, the second half would have been much harder. It felt like I was going to finish, but i wouldnt have been suprised at all if I didn't. I don't know how many people are going to attempt this, but I think that the failure rate will be higher than expected. Also, I wasnt even on pace for 12k. After 12 hours I was at ~5500, with an AP of 8.6. I wasnt leaving tables very often, they were just staying full. I would have been pretty pissed to go the 24hrs at like 11k hands and get nothing for it. Might need to loosen up that # a little.
