I'd say it's an OK play. If he's sitting on pocket deuces/sevens so be it, at least you haven't wasted more than a few minutes playing this one, and can start another SNG. If you win you sit in 2nd in chips and things are looking up.

Cheers,

Swede

Anyone fold this preflop? I'd be tempted to, this early in the tournament. Gap concept and all.

Actually even doubling up means almost nothing this early. It gives you a better chance, but not even twice your original chance. Something in the region of 1.7-1.8x. It's not worth it, the guy could have AA, KK or the set. The way he is betting this flop you can be sure he has a hand, because he's trying to get the drawers out on a very heavy board.

I do.

That's a great point - when I saw the EP early position raise of 5 x BB I had my mouse over the fold button. But I guess I've been hardened to the 10 dollar world and thought it could have been anything from 77 up to AA.

I think that is the best play. This early there's no point playing AQ after a big EP raise.

FOLD this one, wait for a better opportunity.

that size raise from "earlyish" position id fold this preflop for sure...not worth it. besides the flush draw, this flop is usually the sort u'd be looking for and you're hesitant to play against heavy action so what on earth would be better than getting the high pair to your A kicker? I always ask myself, "what am I looking for with this hand and how confident could I even be at that point that im ahead?"

so what did he have? KK?

Fold PF.

If, for some reason, you call and you're gonna play the flop this way, checkraise all in.

i agree with everyone - that's what playing at 4:30 AM will do to your judgement, plus coming back from a B&M casino where everyone was absolutely terrible!

I don't care what people say about the online crowd, the people at the casino's are really, really bad. I mean I'm not that good but they sure made me feel good!

Thanks for the input.

You are a 4.4 favorite to have the best hand with AQs.

For every time you fold you AQs to a 75 raise in a $10 SNG, they are at least three time you just folded to AJ, A10, A9, A5s, KQ, KJ, J10s not to menition the odd 72 bluff.

On the flop, I'd probably push, fold, and call about equally, although without a runner runner straight or flush draw, prolly fold.

Bottom line, I certainly don't think it was bad the way you played.
