View Full Version : Books with rules.....

I began to run a home poker game, and am wondering if there are any books that state a uniform set of rules? We play 7 stud hi lo and Omaha hi lo, both with 8 to qualify.

I am looking more for a procedure manual, dealing with exposed cards, boxed cards, exposed hands, miscalling of hands, etc. Any and all advice is welcome. Thank you in advance

There's lots of that in this piece (link to Caro's site on Planet). It's a bit light on the nuts and bolts of how to play the various games, it's more geared towards how to run a public card room, and has detailed proceedures for things you mention and more.

It reads like a Model or Uniform Poker Code; no place will adopt the whole thing, but it will give academics something to banter about amongst themselves.

Andy - I don't know for sure if it does, but it seems like "The Professional Poker Dealer's Handbook by Dan Paymar, Donna Harris, and Mason Malmuth" would include those sorts of things. Someone else here might know if it does.

Be aware that minor discrepancies are often handled differently by one floorperson than another, and different casinos seem to have slightly different rules.
