I've only player 2,200 hands which it absolutely nothing, but having come up from 3/6 I feel like the 5/10 6 max people are even stupider. Its been a successful period winning 4.52bb/100 (I play 1-2 tables and pay close attention cause I'm just learning 6max).

Does anyone else feel like the 6max people are unbelieveably stupid. Once again I know I don't have anything resembling a sample size but the feeling I get playing is that its alot easier.

Yes, they are worse.

Action junkies drift to these short-handed tables.

The cards will run real good, allowing you to get ahead a tidy sum, to get you hooked.

Then, after you get up a few hundred BBs or so, the cards will take a horrendous turn for the worse, allowing other newcomers to gain your currently-enjoyed false sense of security.

Just be sure to cash it out before giving it all back, once the cards turn.

Good luck,

TSP

YOu gotta be sure to cash it all out though, b/c otherwise if you just cash out some they'll give you real Shatty cards and you'll lose it all back anyways.

I was wondering the same exact thing. I've only played 6 thousand hands, which is nothing, but I have a similar win rate. I guess we're just really lucky.

How do you explain people doing this for a living then.

most of them were kidding.

on a serious note: yes, the players are terrible. However, until you have around 200k hands you won't know your true bb/100 within A FULL BB. This shows how long you need to play to really know how much you're beating the game for.

That said, it is most definitely beatable, just don't expect it to be this easy the whole way.

I understand this. I played about 25-30,000 hands of 3/6 so far. Was comming out slightly ahead but saw how my winrate kept fluctuating.

Its not really the win rate thats getting me, its watching these people play. It just feels like I can take control of a table really easily. Thier so dumb. They were in 3/6 too, but something about thier combined dumbness could make it hard to play. If I'm playing six max with AK with a rainbow board of A,6,2 I can be pretty sure I'm ahead in 5/10, not so in 3/6. Also, bluffing at opportune times works much better, and I don't have to worry about overcards as much with a PP.

Also, people call freely in 5/10. Yes they do in 3/6 too, but it seems easier to narrow down the hands more.

Maybe I'm being vauge, maybe the shorthandedness has brought out the aggression I've needed all along, I just know it feels more comfortable.

Jeff hit the nail on the head here. I had a winrate similar to Leighs for my first oh....35 THOUSAND HANDS of 6max. my last 35 THOUSAND HANDS have been spent normalizing that.

OH fffffffuck it sucks.

I understand, my first 15,000 hands of 3/6 I destroyed the game, the second 10,000 sucked, not so much cause I lost but I didn't make much.

Its not the winrate so much as I find playing it easier. I just feel a lot more comfortable at a 6max table wethere I'm on a winning streak or a losing streak.

here my take on 6 max, the game is soft (which makes being a small winner easy), but it is a very difficult game to maximize your EV at.

Yeah, the games are great but hella swingy. I started off in the game with a 110 BB downswing. Its now back to -25BB.

Yes, they are bad.

I've played like 500 hands of 5/10 6max and my initial observations are that table selection is probably more important than anything else. There are tables absolutely full of TAGs, and there are tables with 3 guys with VPIP's over 70%. You put a bracelet winner at the first one, and me at the second and I'll make tons more.

I've been datamining 8 tables around the clock since I started and I should get serious about it in january, hopefully things will go well.
