Mine's Yuichi which, loosely translated from japanese is "first son". Not that cool, in and of itself, but the characters in the name are the same as my grandfather's (Isami), but in reverse order.

I think the middle name was just invented as a way to keep grandfathers happy. The parents like other names, but don't want to seem like they're ignoring Grandpa so they give the kid his name for a middle name. What's really annoying is peoiple that have multiple middle names. George Herbert Walker Bush. wtf is that crap?

I go by my middle name- so when people and and I say "David" it's about one in four that say "wait- your name is David David Harrison".

I don't know, I guess I can get middle name envy sometimes. There is no way to add that middle initial to make my name sound extra official on important documents.

A friend of mine, also with no middle name, filled out some online credit report thing, and it the form apparently didn't like it when he left the middle initial blank, so it got defaulted to an "A". Of course, this caused the credit report to fail. It's middle-name-ism I tell ya!

I once worked for a guy who's middle name is "E"...just the letter. I think his parents just put the initial on his birth certificate or something and before they could change it, it was official.
