Hi All -

Long time reader, first time poster. I have heard a lot of good stuff on Poker Tracker and bit the bullet and bought it last week. I primarily play 6-player max no-limit ($25 dollar max buy-in) and have searched these forums for player rating rules. Having no luck, I thought I would ask this forum for some help.

Any advice or help would be much appreciated.

Here's my autorate settings (just stick this into a .txt file and import it into PT). It's basically Bison's with a slight change in VPIP and he originally got some < and > backwards.

Thanks for the insight. Do you use this for 10 player no-limit or 6 player no-limit?

Both, it doesn't make any sense to have different rules for each and to modify your rules / re-export each time.

Hi Ancient,

Thanks for the numbers. I pasted your rules into a text file, and then tried to import them. PT says the import was successful, but then no rules show up under the "Step 2 - Rules" tab. When I start the auto-rate batch, PT complains there are no rules defined even though the import was supposedly successful.

Any ideas? Perhaps I messed up the text file some how... does it have to be tab-delimited or something?

Thanks,

j.

I'm not sure exactly, but instead of dealing with that I just uploaded my exported rules instead:

Thanks. That did the trick.

What's the minimum number of hands you have to have on your opponents to auto-rate them? I set mine to 100 for now..

30. That's about half an hours worth of play, but with PlayerVIEW or GameTime+ icons aren't really needed as much anymore.

Agreed. I love GameTime. But I think the icons are useful for table selection.

How can you use GameTime for a table you haven't sat down yet? You change your name to match someone's at the table?

That's kinda annoying if you're multitabling though . . .

Huh? You can't use GameTime until you've sat down and PT has imported some hands. I just meant that once I've auto-rated opponents in PT, I can filter by icon and then browse tables looking for opponents with fish icons, etc.

Oh that's way too time consuming for me, I just sit down with people on my buddy list or highest pot sized tables.

You can use GameTime without having to sit down as long as you're importing observed hands. Just change your name to match someone already sitting down at the table.

Thanks for the insightful post. Not too familiar with the hand rules, but is it fair to assume that one should try to tweak the rules a bit, depending if they play short handed or at a ring game?

BTW, what has your success rate been with the player classifications? Do you feel these rules accurately reflect the playing styles of various players?

Again, much thanks!
