First orbit in the table, so no reads.

Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (10 handed) converter (http://www.selachian.com/tools/bisonconverter/hhconverter.cgi)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+2 with 2/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, 2/images/graemlins/spade.gif.
2 folds, Hero calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, 2 folds, Button calls, SB completes, BB checks.

Do others call pocket 2's utg+2 at a new table?

Flop: (6 SB) 8/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, 5/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 2/images/graemlins/heart.gif (6 players)
SB checks, BB bets, Hero raises . . .

Is raising the right play here?

Is it better to just call to encourage callers behind?

Do you want to raise to increase the cost for players on a draw--although probably someone with a 4 flush would have odds to cold call the raise.

Or do you just raise because you think you have the best hand and the raise is for value?

This board is draw-friendly enough that raising is definitely the way to go here. Anyone with two hearts will call (as well as most single big hearts) and single pairs will call even though they are drawing dead.
