Interested in what the tourney experts here think.

One thing I appreciate about PartyPoker is that they do try and listen to players and make improvements.

Mike Sexton was on site last night reading the table chat and responding, also to the railbirds, particularly in the final stages. I, and a few others, definitely bent his ear about this current PPM format.

So, a few suggestions, who knows they may listen?

Before the next round of semifinals gets here in November, could you guys at Party consider the following;

1) The blind and limit escalation, time limit, needs major tweaking. Maybe longer rounds than 12 minutes, especially after the first 4 or 5 rounds or so. Once it gets to 200/400 and up, it is a total crap shoot, due to the disproportionate starting stack sizes and quick escalation in limits.

The tourney started very slowly with the 3000 chip stack folks having 100 big bets, but not too many rounds later, "average" stack size among all players had shrunk to 8 big bets.

When it was down to 30 players, average stack was LESS Than 4 big bets, and the biggest tourney stack was only 6 1/2 big bets!!

12 minutes later at 24 players, average stack size was about 2.3 big bets and biggest tourney stack only 5 big bets!

This structure = crap shoot once we're past the first few rounds. Not much skill other than the skills normally employed by superaggressives for late stage short handed play. But at a full table, luck is too big a factor here to do battle with only 4 or 5 big bets, in a par size stack.

2) Can you please reinstate the option for the hand winner to expose his hole cards if he chooses? I miss it. Pokerstars has it, and it is important in tourneys.

There aren't many online "tells", and this is one of the few weapons a player can use to create a certain table image, weak or strong.

3) We need player notes option!!!! Again, online tourney leader Pokerstars has it, Party can compete well if they add this feature.

4) Time bank. A brilliant concept by PokerStars to assure no "all in" cheats, but stll allow for some added time for flaky connection, important hands, or added thought process.

5) Hand for hand play when it gets to 2 tables. The "delay of game" tactics that were being employed last night were boorish, but understanable.

Last year in the PPM semi's, Party added incentives for frequent players in the freerolls after frequent players complained about newbies getting freerolls for the PPM, after all the frequent players had already qualified. This was excellent responsiveness by Party to player complaints.

Hopefully, Mike Sexton and Party management will listen to us again and make some alterations in the format and software of PPM and T software in general.

I'll be there again tonight to do battle, but it'll take quite a rush of cards to overcome the disproportionate luck factor.

Dear BaaadBeet,

Our original plans were to have about four hours of actual playing time to when the cruise package winners were determined. (And on Day 1, it took exactly four hours.) However, as we discovered, players felt the format was too much of a "crapshoot".

We then changed the format for Day 2 and again for Day 3 to allow more playing time. The actual playing time on Days 3 & 4 was five hours. Couple that with the 40 minutes of break time and the entire event took five hours and forty minutes to complete. This was indeed a better format.

Time is a factor. We can't expect East coast players to stay up past 3:00 a.m. Nor do we want to start the tournament prior to 9:00 p.m. EST as many West coast players might not be able to play.

Players did seem appreciative that we listened to them and made changes allowing them more playing time. We really do appreciate input from our players and we do listen.

And BaaadBeet, you make some excellent points about other ways we can improve. Thanks.
