In your experience, does shipping usually take as long as expected? My current estimate is Dec 30 for the ship date for a monitor ordered tonight. Is this a pretty accurate estimate?

I ordered mine on 12/8 and it said 12/22 delivery....
It arrived yesterday (12/14).
Not sure if that is typical, but mine definitely arrived earlier.

Same here...Dell has become VERY conservative with their shipping/arrival dates. I will often get stuff a full 2 weeks before the estimated date. Last week I bought something that had an expected shipping date of early January and it shipped the next day!

I ordered 2 of these at the end of November, and the estimated shipping date was December 10th. I received one on December 10th, and I'm still waiting on the other.
What is frustrating is that both of them shipped out on the 8th, and both landed at a local UPS center 5 miles from me on the 9th. One came the morning of the 10th, other hasn't changed tracking info since the 9th. Grr!

I ordered one on the 10th, they said it would ship on the 27th, but it actually shipped on the 13th (actually the next business day). Supposed to arrive today according to UPS.

Hmm, said they'd ship on the 30th, but they shippped today! That was within 12 hours of placing my order. No more worries from me. 2001FP here I come!

Blehh... I ordered on the fifth and it shipped the 13th... still not bad, I guess, but you got *really* lucky.

I ordered mine on the 6th and received it on the 13th despite it saying that it wouldn't ship until the 22rd.

I would call them on this. If it hasn't updated in 6 days there is a problem somewhere. They have lost it or the label fell off or something. I know it is their busiest time of year but I would definately call and question it.

With any luck it will be shipped within a day or two. I assume they brought on some seasonal help for the holidays, and they're not as busy as they anticipated.... or something.

Ordered the 5th, came today, coolest thing ever.
I need some advice on how to go from VGA to DVI, if anyone knows what I'm talking about.

If you mean from a standard analog connector to DVI, then you'll have to get a different video card. Changing the other way has an adapter, but you'll be working with the same information if you're trying to go from analog to digital. You can probably pick up a PCI card w/ DVI output for not too much money.
