Are there any universal remotes out there that can control TiVo?

I basically am looking for a remote that can do TV, Sound System, DVD Player, and TiVo. I am thinking the TiVo part is a stretch, but you never know.

Alternatively, where on the Internet is a good forum to ask this question if not here?

Philips Pronto Remote (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000095JBD/ref%3Dpd%5Fsl%5Faw%5Falx-jeb-7-1%5Fce%5F3036564%5F8/102-8921618-2509760)

I think you're almost losing money by not buying this.
After all, the "ProntoEdit allows you to fully customize the user interface to suit your personal remoting style."

Here's a page full of em (http://shopping.msn.com/giftguidesresults.aspx?ggid=284&ggcid=2278)

Google is your friend.

Also, tivocommunity.com has forums for people like you.

I thought you guys were proud of your 35 remotes anyway.

google. There are a couple out there. There are also some high priced (200+) dollar remotes that can be be programmed to do just about anything.

Remote Central (http://www.remotecentral.com/) has some good reviews.

My house has cox digital cable with a DVR built into the box, all fits on one remote.

Not really an answer to your question but something to think about if its avaliable in your area.

i use a phillips magnavox remote from target. you must get a learning remote. thats what they are called. you aim your old remotes at it and program the signals you want into the learning remote. it then controls all of your old remotes functions. bad thing they are infared and not uhf which goes thru walls and doesnt have to be pointed at the set.

it's not about cheap. like me, many (most?) people hate lcd-based remotes because they lack a physical button for all operations. the one you linked in particular appears terrible for a dvr.

This one looks pretty good.

the 800 dollar one with the LCD screen looks neat, but my friend has a Sony one with the screen and it would never do what I wanted it to do. Thanks.

I have this one and love it:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000065UDU/104-1077819-1987154?v=glance

I control my TV, Receiver, VCR, Tivo, Comcast DVR, DVD player, and Slimp3 player with it. I haven't needed to use any of the original devices in months. Seriously, it rules.

If you get the Wall Street Journal, they had a brief mention of it the other day.

Great remote. I have one as well.

Works well with everything, until I bought my NAD CD Player... it doesn't get along too well with that unfortunately.

Although if I were to buy something today I'd get something I could program using my computer.

I was actually being a bit sarcastic about that since spending 800(or even 250) bucks on a remote does seem a bit over the top. The prontos do have a few hard keys but I agree that in general LCD remotes look cool but lack some usability. I had some friends who bought the old prontos and they were more of a show off toy (ie the thing can play tetris and space invaders). Sonys LCD remote has a few more hard keys but I am guessing it suffers the same UI problems.

it should work with any infared device that throws a signal. as all it does is duplicate the sending of the particular signal. as long as you make sure it is a learning remote it should work. they only cost about 15 bucks. i have a high end system and use that instead of getting the big time remote system that takes a whole day just to program it. one remote on your table replaces all the others you have. if you get just a univerasal remote, it will only work with most of the newer remotes and may not work with what you want.
